The Arizona Cardinals are looking for an offensive coordinator after their first-round pick, Jamees Winston, was dismissed by the Buccaneers.
But how will they replace him?
The Cardinals have two top quarterbacks in Carson Palmer and Ryan Nassib and two other good options in Jared Veldheer and Joe Webb.
But the Cardinals need an offensive guru.
The team has not been able to make head coach Bruce Arians happy and the organization is under scrutiny after the firing of offensive coordinator Mike Shula, who was fired by the team last week.
The Cardinals need to find an offensive coach who can build a successful offense that can get the most out of all four quarterbacks.
It is not an easy task to fill the job, but if there is one, it is Arizona.
The Cardinals need a coordinator that has a deep understanding of how to run a pro-style offense and who can lead a team through the ups and downs of the NFL season.
There is a lot to like about Arizona’s offensive coordinator position.
The two quarterbacks are among the best in the NFL.
The offensive line is one of the best and the defense is one that should be very dangerous in the NFC West.
It would not be surprising to see Arians hire an offensive offensive coach with an offensive background.
He has been successful at some level with other offensive coordinators.
The other offensive coordinator that the Cardinals have to find is former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Doug Marrone.
Marrone is well known for his offense in Tampa Bay, but he is not a coordinator with an NFL background.
Marrone has been around the NFL for a long time and has had success at a few different levels.
He had the Tampa Bay Bucs for five years and won a Super Bowl with the team in 2008.
Marrones tenure there was successful, but there were times that he struggled and was not the best offensive coordinator in the league.
Marones first offensive coordinator gig with the Tampa team came in 2011 when he was fired.
He returned in 2013 with the New York Jets where he had the team finish 2-14.
The Jets did not have a great season last year, but Marrone was still a coordinator on the Jets that had success in Tampa.
Marones tenure with the Jets was unsuccessful and he was dismissed last week from his position.
The offensive coordinator search will be a lot more interesting this offseason.
Teams will be searching for head coaches, coordinators, and coordinators with NFL backgrounds.
This is the time to find offensive coordinates that have the right blend of experience and ability.
This should not be a difficult task for the Cardinals.
