— A crowd of 18,000 was in attendance to see the University of Utah State men’s basketball team defeat Ole Miss 66-68 on Tuesday night.
Ole Mizzou won the game 74-62.
The win marks the first of three straight for Utah State (18-9, 9-4 Mountain West), which won at Louisiana Tech, Utah and Iowa State on the way to a 17-8 mark in league play.
Senior forward Anthony Bennett scored 17 points for the Utes, who were led by three players who were named to the All-Mountain West First Team.
The win puts Utah State on pace for an 18th consecutive league win, which would tie the school record.
The Utes have a league-best 20-game winning streak.
Utah State, which defeated Iowa State 81-72 on Sunday in the Big 12 title game, is 10-3 against the Rebels in league action.
The two teams met just once this season, when the Ute scored 20 points in the third quarter of a 74-72 loss at Ole Miss on Jan. 6.
This year’s Utes will face Texas Tech in the NCAA tournament.
